Tarım açısından zararlı sayılsa da, türden farklı alanda faydalanan kültürler de bulunur. Çin'de Pyralis farinalisin çayı üretilmektedir ve kültivasyonu için türün hızlı gelişebilmesi amaçlı araştırmalar yapılmaktadır.
