Maximilian Schell (d. 8 Aralık 1930 - ö. 1 Şubat 2014), Avusturya doğumlu İsviçreli oyuncudur. Aynı zamanda yazar, yönetmen ve birkaç filmin yapımcısıdır.
Schell'in ailesi Nazi Rejiminin baskısından kurtulmak amacıyla, 1938 yılında Zürih, İsviçre'ye taşındı. Genç Maximilian onbaşı rütbesiyle İsviçre Ordusu'nda görev aldı. Basel Tiyatrosu'nda oyunculuğa başladı. 1958'de The Young Lions filmi ile Hollywood kariyerini başlatan oyuncu Angelina Jolie'nin vaftiz babasıdır. Maximilian Schell aynı zamanda sinema oyuncusu Maria Schell'in kardeşidir.
Schell, "ani ve ciddi bir hastalıktan" sonra 1 Şubat 2014'te Avusturya'nın Innsbruck kentinde 83 yaşında öldü.[1] Alman televizyon haber servisi Tagesschau zatürree tedavisi gördüğünü bildirdi.[2] Cenazesine Waltraud Haas, Christian Wolff, Karl Spiehs, Lawrence David Foldes, Elisabeth Endriss ve Peter Kaiser katıldı. Mezarı, aile evinin bulunduğu ve kız kardeşinin ömrünün sonuna kadar yaşadığı Preitenegg / Carinthia'da (Avusturya) bulunmaktadır.

Schell's agent, Patricia Baumbauer, said Saturday he died overnight at a hospital in Innsbruck following a "sudden and serious illness," the Austria Press Agency reported.
